Today’s Wall Street Journal has an interesting front page article on big data in healthcare. The application of big data analytics to healthcare has the potential to provide insight to make informed medical decisions regarding diagnosis, treatment, etc thereby improving outcomes and reducing costs. The key issues include privacy, security, compliance with laws and regulations, and keeping the decisions with the physicians.
