Digital technologies are transforming the print media, from newspapers and magazines to book publishing. Today’s NYT has two newsworthy items. One, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is purchasing the The Washington Post. Two, while sales of newsstand copies of magazines has plummeted, the digital editions are attracting readership. I still get my three newspapers delivered and look forward to reading them in the morning (no, I don’t have a dog to fetch them). But with the rapid transformation and cost synergies, perhaps print media will disappear very soon. Or a hybrid model may thrive to accommodate readers like me! What do you think?
