Robert Gach, Global Capital Markets

Robert Gach, Global Capital Markets – Industry Managing Director, Accenture, has been appointed “Scholar in Residence” in the Center for Digital Transformation, School of Business for the Academic Year 2011-2012.

“Bob is very insightful, the kind of person who can pull together everything we know about a problem and propose an innovative solution,” said Donna Rapaccioli, dean of the Gabelli School of Business and dean of the Schools of Business Faculty. “We are extremely grateful to have him as our scholar in residence, and we appreciate him lending his intelligence and approach to Fordham in an even greater way over the next year.”

Biography

Bob Gach is Accenture’s Global Capital Markets Industry Managing Director. He is responsible for setting strategy, developing Accenture’s points of view and offerings, establishing investment priorities, managing large global accounts and working with our global account teams to serve the needs of the Capital Markets Industry. Bob leads a global team located in each major capital market center as well as our dedicated solution centers for Capital Markets located in cities including as Paris, Mumbai, Shanghai Manila and Madrid.

As a key element of his large global account work, Bob assists Accenture clients including universal banks, asset managers and exchanges with meeting the needs of their markets and navigating the changing landscape of the global financial services industry. His specialization is on industry structure and information technology impacts.

Prior to this role, Bob was based in Tokyo for 5 years where he was the Financial Services Asia Pacific Managing Director and was responsible for managing our banking, insurance and capital markets business in the region including Australia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Hong Kong and China. During his time in Asia, Bob was responsible for doubling the size of Accenture’s Financial Services business and introducing new capabilities to the market – most notably application outsourcing in Japan and management consulting in China.

Bob has been serving the leaders of the global capital markets and banking industries in Asia, Europe and North America for over 30 years. His experience includes strategy development and information technology planning, architecture development and implementation, package systems evaluation and implementation, custom application development and outsourcing.

Bob is also a frequent commentator on industry issues with recent appearances in the media including CNBC, the Economist, The Financial Times, Market Watch and Wall Street Technology.

He is a graduate of Fordham University with a B.S. degree in Accounting from the Gabelli School of Business . He is a member of the GSB Advisory Board and is a member of the President’s Council of the University.

Mr. Gach is based in New York where he lives with his wife and son.
